Eight Eyes (2023)

An original for Shudder and Not the Funeral Home's first co-production with daring boutique distributor Vinegar Syndrome Pictures, Eight Eyes was shot entirely on 16mm and Super 8 film in Serbia, North Macedonia, and the US. The story follows a mysterious local who intrudes on a couple's vacation in the former Yugoslavia, ensnaring them in his intricate web of psychic rituals. Blending Euro-style folk horror with American Grindhouse grit, the film showcases atmospheric cinematography and haunting imagery that both pays homage to and reinvents the essence of its 70s and 80s influences. Eight Eyes made its debut at the 2023 Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, subsequently garnering attention with screenings at over 30 notable, international genre film festivals around the globe.
